Welcome

Welcome to my website. I am an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Georgia College & State University. I’ve taught a number of Marketing courses.  In a typical term I teach Principles of Marketing, Consumer Behavior, and Sports Marketing (all VERY cool classes).  My research is extremely varied and includes such diverse topics as a Sports Marketing analysis of Title IX to examination of market volatility and its relationship to the political environment.

I have a beautiful wife who is much more well read than I am, has strong opinions about the benefits of organic foods, and enjoys making fun of professional sports.   My daughter is brilliant and just finished ninth grade and I’ve also got a son who is five and is as articulate as he is busy (and he is VERY BUSY).  I actually commute in to campus from parts North, but fortunately I have a convertible that turns what would be a long drive into a serene attempt to avoid deer.  I’m unaccomplished at a number of sports including golf and tennis, and thanks to iPod and Nike + I’ve been running lately although not as much as I need to.

If you’re one of my students the best way to reach me is to email me at joe.schwartz@gcsu.edu.  If you’re not one of my students then you can email as well, but I might not reply as quickly. I’m kind of square (which you could probably guess from my using terms like “kind of square”) which means that you can’t Instant Message me, and  while I am actually on Facebook I pretty much just use it to play Attack!.
